Nouvelle thématique pour visiter Toulouse en vélo : les escaliers … Plutôt avec suspension le vélo, même si récemment j’ai pu descendre quelques escaliers avec mon Gravel. Là, comme nous avions prévu d’en faire beaucoup, j’ai roulé en VTT.
Départ de Jolimont avec Bastien, quelques escaliers intéressants sont dans ce coin.
Nous avons cherché quelques « beaux » escaliers, « beaux » à descendre, certains à remonter (pour cet exercice, les escaliers sur le côté de l’église Saint-Aubin sont parfaits).
Nous sommes allés du côté de Saint-Georges, sommes passés devant la cathédrale Saint-Étienne pour partir vers la Prairie des filtres et les îles du Ramier.
Les escaliers les plus longs d’une traite (sans palier) sont certainement ceux de l’Hôtel de Région, assez impressionnants au premier abord …
Les escaliers le long du Boulevard du Maréchal Juin au niveau du Boulevard des Recollets ne sont assurément pas très beaux mais proposent aussi une bonne descente …
Les plus longs escaliers de Toulouse (avec paliers, nous ne les avons pas comptés) relient l’hôpital de Rangueil à la faculté de médecine quelques 60 m plus bas.
Pour les rejoindre, nous sommes montés à Pech-David par le Gr653. Ces escaliers sont toujours là, j’y suis venu pour la première fois il y plus de 20 ans avec Xavier, on cherchait aussi à descendre des escaliers …
Nous sommes ensuite vers le centre-ville par les bords de Garonne, il y quelques beaux escaliers, notamment les tous nouveaux aménagés Place Saint-Pierre, pour revenir à notre point de départ.

New theme for visiting Toulouse by bike: the stairs … Rather with suspension of the bike, although recently I was able to descend a few stairs with my Gravel.

Departure from Jolimont with Bastien, some interesting stairs are in this corner. We looked for some “beautiful » stairs, « beautiful » to go down, some to go up (for this exercise, the stairs on the side of the Saint-Aubin church are perfect).
We went towards Saint-Georges, passed in front of the Saint-Etienne cathedral to leave towards the Prairie of the filters and the islands of the Ramier.
The longest stairs in a row (without landing) are certainly those of the Hôtel de Région, quite impressive at first glance …

The longest stairs in Toulouse (with landings, we have not counted them) connect the Rangueil hospital to the faculty of medicine some 60 m below.

We are then towards the city center by the banks of the Garonne, there are some beautiful staircases, in particular the all new arranged Place Saint-Pierre, to return to our starting point.
